Little Stinker

So - I have to say that ususally we lay blame on Roger Brakke when Roonie starts to be beg for "people food". He has a history of feeding her - a lot. However, last night, I was watching our perfect daughter have some Cheerios as a bed time snack - and BAM...Roonie has a new best friend.

(oh yeah - she stops and starts dancing - it's when the new Mac Notebook commercial comes on...she LOVES the music - dances to it everytime.)

Happy Easter

The Easter bunny came early to Sophie's house, so on Easter Sunday - Lucy let Sophie play with her basket. Sophie had to check it out after Lucy found the eggs that the bunny hid around Pappa G's house. She liked the foil-covered chocolate - really no need to unwrap!

Stella had a blast too!

Sophie's Big Day

We had such a big day the Saturday before Easter! It all started out with the Easter Egg Hunt at the Alerus Center. Sophie wasn't quite big enough to run out and grab her eggs. But - we still had fun!

Sophie played with her friend Catelynn Goodman when the big kids got to go on the slides and jumping things. They played "look I can almost walk" and "the egg was in your mouth, now, it's in mine".
After that - Sophie got to play at the Waterpark with the Goodmans & Halversons. Daddy even took her down the big kids slide. She thought it was okay - just not the beginning where her face gets wet. Daddy does a good job keeping her safe. Mommy on the other-hand....let's just say once down the little kids slide with mom was enough.
Finally, it was time to dye Easter Eggs for the Easter Bunny. Lucy did most of the heavy-lifting, but Sophie gave her opinions as much as she could.

Here's Lucy with the pretty eggs!

Better go to bed, so the Easter Bunny can hide them!!!

Fun with Lucy

This weekend we went to see Lucy, Stelly, Eric, Yvette and Pappa G in Grand Forks. On Friday after church (that Sophie sat through about 80% of!) we went to dinner (Pappa G wasn't there - he was away).

Boy oh boy - these girls are going to be trouble. Lucy had so much fun with Sophie now that they can actually play togheter, and Sophie is SO excited to have Lucy to entertain her. Good think the Blue Moose wasn't that busy - the girls may have annoyed some people. Sophie laughed so much at her cousin - that she nearly fell over at the very end.

Lazy Weekend

We had a lazy weekend! It was really fun to just hang out at home, and actually play with some of Sophie's toys. She has re-discovered this little guy. She gets on and off of it all by herself. Can't quite understand how to get it moving herself -needless to say, mom's back is pretty stiff.

Sophie also helped out with Roonie this weekend - at least, watching to make sure she does her "duty". It was so nice to have the door open to let the breeze through and not freeze.

Right after her little dance - - - she took a few steps (and I didn't get it on film - suprise)!!! She's still pretty chicken to go any sort of distance -but she's so close!

And yes - we just wore our Jammer Jam Jams all day.

She just loves her bath! I appologize for the terrible video work - for some reason I think that it will show more if you turn the camera - not thinking that everything turns. Make sure you look when Aaron says "Pinch Your Face" - she's such a ham....wonder where she gets that?

(Blurry Photos - I was playing with some settings, when this event took place)

Sophie is so adventrous - she get's into everything - and sometimes she just doesn't know how to get out....

Daddy to the rescue!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOPHIE

It finally happened, Sophie turned 1!!!
Here the Birthday girl is waking up...still pretty sleepy. She LOVES her bunny that Uncle Todd gave her for Christmas. She sleeps with it every night.

She wore her new outfit mom bought especially for her big birthday to daycare!

PARTY TIME!

Sophie's cousin Lucy even came to help celebrate. Sophie was trying to open gifts, but decided to give Lucy a kiss instead!

"Happy Birthday To You!"
Here she is with her very own birthday cake. She has to inspect it first....
And then....

After the bath - it was time to open presents - and the ribbons were way more interesting than the actual toys and clothes.

Sophie B - 11 Months Old

BIG MILESTONE....Okay, so maybe dad cheated a little bit, but it's a FORWARD FACING car seat. By the looks of it however, maybe Sophie didn't really care.

Another Milestone...starting to use sippy cups! My little baby is growing up!!

Sophie's standing up like a champ - dancing like a rock star!!

Bathtime is probably the best time of the day! Sophie LOVES Splash-a-poloza!

Christmas Time

Sophie had an unbelievable Christmas! She got to spend time with her entire family! First, she helped decorate the Christmas tree at home with dad.

1st Stop - Aunt Staci's
Here, we went to go see Santa & Mrs. Clause. Sophie LOVED them.

Then, Sophie got a special gift from Grandma & Grandpa Brakke - her first John Deere!!
Legs - not quite long enough to peddel on her own.

After gifts - it was time for a little R&R on Grandpa B's lap and to hang out with uncle Todd.

Christmas/Vikings Game:
Sophie went to play at one of Staci's friends house, and the rest of the family went to go see the Vikings lose. The game was pretty disapointing, but - we had a blast!

2nd Stop - Pappa Gregg's: The entire Halverson Family was there for Christmas Eve - this is the first time all 5 cousins met each other!!

L to R:
Stella (4 months), Lucy (2 years), Hannah (5 years), Sophie (10 months), Pappa G (>50 years), Ava (2 years)

So many gifts - but Sophie's favorite part....the wrapping paper! Here she is starting to pull herself up on furniture. Watch-out...here come's the "Ouch"!

Christmas Day
- Beef Tenderloin & Pappa G, Sophie & Aaron (Sophie is SO excited for dinner!)

Sophie B - First Year (Part VI)

Happy Halloween!! Sophie was a HIT in her Chick/Duck costume. Didn't eat a ton of candy...she's sweet enough as is. She went with mom to work, to go trick-or-treating and had a blast seeing everyone!

Late October - SO CLOSE to crawling....Just needs to get that little butt up in the air.

Sophie actually went to a few Bison Football games. She loved them! The fireworks and the noise at the start of the game were her least favorite parts.

Sophie B - First Year (Part III)

Here comes the fall - Sophie is ready to go with here new Bison-duds.

Sophie is getting so mobile now - rolling over (and sometimes rolling off of the bed). She's been such a happy little girl!

Sophie LOVES her carrots and the rest of the delicious baby food! She is such a good eater!!

Sophie also rode the bus to the Bison/Gopher game. Here she is with Pappa Gregg. Sophie spent the weekend with her aunt Staci while Aaron & I showed our Bison Pride!

Aunt Staci brought Sophie to Como park - I think Sophie got a little spoiled!!! At least, she was wearing the appropriate jacket!

BIG NEWS - STELLA GRACE HALVERSON

Welcome to the world Stella!!

Stella was born August 17th. Now Lucy has a little Sister. To the left is a ever-beautiful Yvette, Stella, and Eric.

Here Sophie is meeting her new cousin Stella! Only 6 months apart.

Finally, the new family is at home - we were all missing John, Angie, Hannah & Ava!

Sophie B - First Year (Part II)

June, 2007 - What a great summer!!

Sophie had so much fun at the lake, going on walks, and exploring all over the place. She loved the water and her hat!

Grandma and Grandpa's house at the lake was THE place to be. Sophie loved boat rides, swimming, and just hanging out!

Sophie also got to spend some time with her cousin Lucy. She grew up so much and smiled and giggled all the time.
